Born in Toronto, Ontario, Samantha Weinstein first appeared in a 2003 episode of The Red Green Show. 2004 was the beginning of five films in five consecutive years with world premieres at the Toronto International Film Festival - Siblings (2004), Big Girl (2005), Ninth Street Chronicles (2006), The Stone Angel (2007) and Toronto Stories (2008). In 2006, at age 10, she won the ACTRA Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female for her work in Big Girl. In 2013 she played high school student Heather in the remake of Carrie.
Samantha Weinstein died at the age of 28 after a two and a half year battle with ovarian cancer.
