Born in San Francisco, California, O.J. Simpson was a collegiate and professional running back, known for his speed and elusiveness. After his retirement from the NFL he began a new career in acting and broadcasting. In 1968 he made uncredited guest appearances in a number of popular series such as Dragnet, It Takes a Thief, Ironside and The Name of the Game. Although he was acquitted of the 1994 murders of his ex-wife and her friend, his reputation never recovered.
O.J. Simpson was diagnosed with prostrate cancer and died at the age of 76.
