Matt is a British TV presenter who is known for his work with the BBC. He rose to fame when he joined the team of CBBC's "Blue Peter" in 2000. He left the show in 2006 and has gone on to present "Countryfile" and "The One Show."
Matt is one of Britain's best known and best loved TV hosts. He currently anchors BBC One's flagship daily topical series "The One Show" and "Countryfile," the Sunday night series that regularly draws over 8 million viewers.
Matt started his career on iconic U.K. children's series "Blue Peter." He knows how to get to the heart of a story and there isn't anyone he hasn't interviewed; from Prince Charles to Idris Elba. He's been the natural choice to front some of the BBC's big live natural history events; from "Big Blue Live" to "Wild Alaska Live." Matt is also part of the BBC sports commentary team, using his expertise as a former British gymnast to commentate on gymnastics at everything from the World championships to the Olympic Games.
Matt has extensive experience of covering Royal events. In April 2011 he was part of the BBC's "Royal Wedding" coverage, reporting live on the marriage of William and Catherine from 10 Downing Street with the Prime Minister and his party guests. He has also presented live coverage of Trooping the Colour and ridden with the Kings Troop and Horseguards. In 2012 he anchored the Diamond Jubilee Flotilla Pageant and launched the Jubilee concert live from Buckingham Palace's music room.
For "Royal Wedding Watch" Matt will be alongside Meredith Vieira in the central London studio bringing a uniquely British insight to proceedings and making sure nothing gets lost in translation. "Stag" party? That's a bachelor party U.K. style. And the bachelorettes? The Brits call them "hens."
