Gary Conway

Gary Conway was born in Boston. He married and moved to L.A. to pursue a career in acting. While attending UCLA, he was an art major and football player. During his senior year, he was auditioned for and given the role of Leone in a campus production of Volpone. A few weeks later, an agent who had seen his performance offered Conway a contract. But following his graduation in 1958, Conway had a date with the Army. He and the agent kept their appointment three years later. Conway signed on with Warner Brothers, played bit parts in various movies and TV series, and landed a larger part in the motion picture Young Guns of Texas before his two-year stint with Burke's Law. By 1969, he got the part of Captain Steve Burton in TV series Land of the Giants. He also tried his hand at screenwriting and wrote several scripts.
