Born in Ocean City, New Jersey, Marla Adams achieved many beauty pageant titles before turning her attention to an acting career. The day she graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York she won the role of Ottilie Schill in the original 1958 Broadway production of The Visit. She starred as June in the 1961 feature film Splendor in the Grass, with her television debut in 1963 as Mildred Deal in General Hospital, followed by the role of Belle Clemens on The Secret Storm in 1968.
