Tommy tells Oliver that it's like how he died years ago, and if Oliver doesn't escape then he'll suffer the same fate. Oliver gets out from under the support beam just in time as the ceiling comes down, and Tommy pops Oliver's dislocated shoulder back into place. Looking around, Oliver figures that everything they've built with the SCPD is gone thanks to Emiko, and Tommy tells him that his bow was destroyed in the explosion.

When his friend is unable to raise anyone on the radio, Tommy says that the team can take care of themselves and points out the irony of them both having secret half-sisters. There are two explosive arrows intact, and Oliver figures that he can use them. Tommy wonders what Oliver has planned for Emiko, and points out that Robert abandoned her. Oliver insists that she's a murderer, and Tommy wonders if he's going to become a murderer to deal with her. When Oliver says that he doesn't have a choice, Tommy warns him that his attitude will keep him stuck there.

The Future

Felicity tries to raise her contact, and William figures they can conceal their DNA from Archer just like Dale masked his DNA from it. They have to steal the root code from Dale's office, and William figures that he can get in since he's already convinced Dale that he's a CEO. Felicity refuses to take the risk and says that they should leave it to them. William points out that she's leaving him out of things like she did when he was 13, and they never tried to contact him. Mia quickly excuses herself, and Felicity admits that they made a terrible mistake. She and Oliver thought that they were protecting him. Before William can respond, Felicity's computers locate the target and she goes back to work. William walks out.

Now

The team search what's left of the building, and Felicity contacts them on the comms. They report that they're safe but they haven't found Oliver. Felicity says that his comm unit is still on line, meaning that Oliver must still be alive, and explains that the SCPD know they lied about Roy killing the guards.

Tommy reminds Oliver that he's always been good at wiring things as he rigs up the remaining arrows. Once he lays them out, he treats to a short distance and fires an improvised bow to set off the arrows. Part of the roof comes down and Tommy warns that Oliver is making things wore.

Rene worries that they've lost everything they tried to create with the SCPD. Dinah worries that she's lost her job, and Roy offers to turn himself in. Diggle tells him to let them help him, but Dinah agrees with Roy and says that it's better that one of them take the fall then they all go down. Steam pipes burst and the team run forward to cover. The lights come on, and Felicity tells them that the building they're in used to manufacture flammable chemicals. If they don't turn off the backup generator then the sparks will ignite the chemicals.

The team arrive on a mezzanine find the boiler room with the generator, and Felicity says that they have eight minutes until the building explodes. There are tanks of toxic chemicals between them and gas in the room, and the generators, and Felicity and Alena try to find a way to get them to the generator.

Oliver plants an arrowhead on the debris, and figures that he has no other choice. Tommy tells him that he keeps finding himself in situations where things get worse, and Oliver insists that he has to find Emiko and stop her before she hurts anyone else. He reminds Tommy of what Malcolm did to Tommy, and wonders what would have happened if Tommy had listened to him a bit sooner. Tommy didn't because he was blinded to the fact that Malcolm was his father. His friend admits that he didn't listen until it was too late, and says that he's stuck in his father's cycle just like Oliver is and will continue to be unless he breaks free. Oliver insists that he's wrong and says that it's not about him or Robert, but Emiko and the choices that she made are on her. He then fires at the explosive arrowhead and the detonation knocks him back.

Felicity finds a route via the air ducts to a room with a shutoff switch. Roy realizes that they won't make it in time and leaps into the generator room and goes across the pipes while holding his breath. They watch as he drops down and Felicity warns that Roy has maybe 12 seconds. Diggle yells to Roy for a sitrep, and gets no response. The generator stops and they figure that he's dead. Roy climbs up on to the mezzanine, and Diggle tells Felicity that they're looking for Oliver. Emiko comes in, arrow drawn, and Felicity says that she's pregnant and her baby is innocent just like Emiko was when Robert left her family. Emiko shoots out the computers, and then leaves.

Oliver recovers from the shock and Tommy tells him that he needs to worry about what happens when Oliver gets out. He says that Oliver has a shot at something that they never had: a clean slate. Tommy tells Oliver that he can keep his past from hurting their children, but it will never happen if Oliver sees red with Emiko. He says that Oliver has to break the cycle of lies and hate or he's as trapped as he is in the room. Oliver says that "Tommy" is a figment of his imagination sent to test his resolve, and insists that it won't work. The debris finally collapses, revealing the exit, and Oliver tells Tommy he'll be as ruthless to Emiko as she was to Robert, and Tommy wishes him good luck finding his team because he's going to need them.

As they head off, the team discover that the comms are offline. Roy sits down to catch his breath, and Dinah tells Diggle and Rene to go on ahead. Once they do, Dinah tells Roy that he's an idiot for risking his life, and he's surprised that she cares about his life. She says that he's their teammate, and Roy points out that they lost everything to protect him. Dinah admits that what he did is awful but they know it's the bloodlust. Roy says that he put everyone at risk and they should have let him go to prison. Dinah says that she was pissed because they lost everything but she doesn't want him dead, and as long as he's alive he can redeem himself and the world is a better place with a hero like him. They go on ahead to join the others.

Alena makes sure the bunker is clear, and asks if Felicity is okay. She says that her parents made her miserable when she was a child, and she promised she'd do better. Felicity figures that she's done something worse by creating a world where she can't keep her children safe. Alena tells her to consider taking her family off the grid while she runs the company, and tells her that she needs to do something different.

The Future

Mia approaches William as he watches Dale's video, and says that Felicity left with Roy. He says that Felicity is pushing him away like she always has, and Mia says that Felicity made sure his company was a success. William tells her that he wanted a mother, not her money. Mia explains that when she found out Felicity was keeping secrets, she confronted her and demanded answers and suggests that William do the same. William gets a notification of his appointment with Dale and leaves.

Now

Oliver finds the team and they head out. Emiko and her Ninth Circle agents arrive and she greets her brother. He gives her one last chance to stand down, and throws a dart into a nearby steam pipe to distract her. The team attack the agents and Dinah grabs a steam pipe to use as a bo staff. Rene figures that the place is about to explode, and Oliver goes after Emiko. He tells her that it's over, and Emiko says that she knows about his baby. They fight and Oliver finally gets the drop on Emiko. She says that she's made sure his family will die, and Diggle arrives and tells Oliver not to shoot. He shoots Emiko in the chest and she collapses, and Diggle stares at Oliver in shock and then falls over the catwalk, Emiko's arrow in his chest. The other teammates are laying there, dead as well.

Tommy calls to Oliver, who wakes up from his nightmare. His friend suggests that Oliver had a reminder of what it feels like to be Robert. He says that Oliver has broken Robert's cycle, but as long as Oliver gives into his worst impulses then he'll never be free. Tommy tells Oliver to lean into his best virtues and show that side to Emiko. Oliver is living proof that people can change, and he has to find a way to see that in Emiko. When Oliver says that he doesn't know if he can do that, Tommy tells him that it's a risk he has to take. The team arrive outside, and Oliver tells Tommy that he misses him every day. Tommy says that he[s always with him and it's time to wake up. He snaps his fingers and Oliver wakes up beneath the rubble. The team come in and free him.

Later at the bunker, Oliver confirms that Felicity and their baby are okay. They figure that Emiko was there for something else, and have confirmed that only a few of Oliver's arrows are gone. Dale gets a notice and says that he has to deal with something. Once they're alone, William tells Rene that he's been accessing the root code. Guards surround them and Dale says that it's a pleasure to meet Felicity and Oliver's son. He tells Rene that they've reached the end of his political career.

Alena arrives and Mia figures that she's the one responsible for Archer. Felicity says that Alena has agreed to help them destroy Archer for real now that Felicity has frozen her bank account and destroyed her passport. Dinah wonders how Alena planned to use Archer, and she explains that Dale took over the company in a hostile takeover and threatened to kill her loved ones unless she went into hiding. Felicity realizes that William is gone and discovers that he tried to access Dale's computers. Galaxy One soldiers arrive and arrest the entire group.

Team Arrow arrive at the SCPD, and find the Ninth Circle agents tearing up the place and killing the cops. Bingsley is badly wounded, and says that someone stole the subway weapon. The team fight their way through the building, looking for Emiko, and Oliver escapes with the weapon. Oliver goes after her onto the roof, and she says that he'll get to see his city burn to the ground. He asks Emiko to help end their family's cycle of violence, and Emiko insists that they're not family. Emiko tells him to kill her, but Oliver refuses. The flash-bang she planted goes off and Emiko escapes. The team arrive and SCPD aerial support arrives and tells the team to hold their positions.
