A boy likes to play tricks with phoney calls on his ham radio. However, it’s a big problem for him when he’s heard a crime in the making and then can’t convince anyone that he's telling the truth. A young invalid boy causes problems for Don and Gil by calling in false alarms via shortwave radio, on the ABC Television Network's “Chopper One,” Thursday, April 25, 1974 (7:00-7:30)

In “The Boy Who Cried Wolf,” house-bound David Stratton, who passes his days with his ham radio, sends the two officers on a wild goose chase. Gil tracks the youngster down and warns him about interfering with the police. A few days later, while Don and Gil and answering a burglary call, David, who has heard the robbers talking to their lookout, frantically calls in with his information but, of course, no one will believe him.
