A teenage gymnast who is well on the way to starving herself to death, a police officer carrying a bullet in his back that is now threatening his life, and a medical colleague who may be psychotic each pose a mystery for Dr. Sid Rafferty on ‘Rafferty.’ Rafferty is puzzled about the genesis of young Toni Power's (Terri Nunn) ominous compulsion, anorexia nervosa, and puzzled as well about why Officer Ed Maizure (John Lehne) refuses to permit surgical removal of the shifting bullet that can at long last accomplish its original mission of killing him. As for Dr. Mike Bakersmith (Ron Rifkin), Rafferty isn't sure if he is merely a harmless daydreamer or unbalanced enough to be suicidal.
