HUNT BANK ROBBER WHO SHOT TWO PARTNERS IN FIRST EPISODE OF NEW SEASON FOR "LARAMIE"
Jess Harper hunts three unidentified outlaws who accidentally wound young Mike Williams while robbing the Laramie bank, in the episode, "Among the Missing, " as "Laramie" starts its second season in color and fourth on NBC-TV Tuesday, Sept. 25 (7:30-8:30 p.m. EDT).
Jess leaves Slim and Daisy to care for Mike and sets out with Sheriff Mort Corey to seek the bandits. They find two of them shot and abandoned by the third. One lives long enough to give Jess a clue about their partner.
John Smith stars as Slim Sherman, Bob Fuller as Jess Harper, Spring Byington as Daisy Cooper and Dennis Holmes as Mike Williams.
The sheriff returns to Laramie, but Jess heads for the town of Chloride to track down the remaining outlaw. Shortly after arriving, he is beaten unconscious and tied to his horse, which is sent galloping out of town. Jamie Davis rescues Jess, and nurses him back to health. Then he gives Jess additional information about the outlaw, leading to a showdown .
Claude Akins is cast as Sheriff Tyler Shaw, Dolores Michaels as Nona and Jan Merlin as Milo Gordon.
The episode was written by Rod Peterson and directed by Joe Kane. "Laramie" is produced by John Champion. Dan Ullman is associate producer. The series is filmed at Revue Studios in Hollywood
