Davina meets Sue Shortstop, proto feminist, and savager of male panellists on discussion shows. As Davina gets in touch with her inner goddess, Shortstop's narcoleptic husband is getting in touch with one of his beautiful students.

Davina meets Tom Paine, a personal shopper, who helps her to believe that there is life (and style) after widowhood. But her new neighbour Lizzie has some news that may derail her hopes.

Davina's son Orlando returns, surprising her with his new girlfriend, Cheryl. With Orlando seeming to have forgiven Davina for Al's death, but Cheryl blaming her for Orlando's past, is Orlando trying to pay her back for her affair with a younger man?

Davina's brother-in-law Roger is on trial for accountancy fraud, and happens to be represented by old school mate, Leonard Richards. When Roger finds out his wife's history with Richards, he takes steps to free them both.

Davina's friend Lizzie decides that she has had enough of a life spent waiting, prompting Davina to assess how far she really has moved forward.
