Hippocrate - Episode Guide

Medical student Alyson discovers her new workplace, a public outlying hospital, with the other two interns assigned to the department, Hugo and Chloé. All patients are confined to their homes following sanitary measures: a risk of contagion has been established after the death of a patient with meningococcus. In their absence, the interns must manage the department and the patients alone. Alyson is not confident, unlike Chloé, who has a secret relationship with the doctor in charge of the department....

The exclusion of doctors was extended until further notice, as an unidentified pathogen was detected during the autopsy of the deceased patient. Arben Bascha was immediately detached from his department to join the meagre staff of internal medicine, won by fatigue and panic, with the exception of Chloé. A patient, taken in charge at the exit of a nightclub, integrates the already overcrowded service...

Professor Wagner unilaterally decides to transfer four of his patients admitted to the intensive care unit in sector 1 of internal medicine. Faced with this fait accompli, Chloé and Dr. Bascha, who were trying to reduce the number of patients in this department, are furious. Hugo, on the other hand, bridged the position of bursar of the boarding school, while Alyson ended up doubting his choice and stroking the idea of changing schools. But is the situation really different in other hospitals?

Still in quarantine, Dr. Simoni strongly criticizes Chloé for agreeing to treat Wagner's patients. Overwhelmed, she did not spare her pain despite her recent heart operation. His overwork could put his life in danger. Arben, on the other hand, is increasingly enjoying working with living patients. Hugo and Alyson, finally, have increasingly complicated relationships....

The sudden death of a patient leaves the team in shock; the parents ask for an investigation to be opened. Nathalie Ferrand, the director, welcomes the two replacement doctors and sends Arben back to pathology to autopsy the body. Chloé can't bring herself to admit her weaknesses; Hugo wants to assume his.

Chloe, physically exhausted, is unable to tell Wagner the truth about her situation. Only one doctor remains to support the team. Arben Bascha is requisitioned again. Marion's autopsy raises concerns. Hugo takes charge of a young woman who has been the victim of an accident, whom only music soothes. A priest, who has an epileptic fit in the middle of mass, is admitted to the ward...

Professor Wagner takes care of Chloe, who has fainted. Alyson and Hugo make several important discoveries at her home while Arben feels guilty for not having seen anything. Shocked, Alyson questions her qualities as a doctor. In the neonatology unit, Hugo worries about the fate of the premature baby, born from a denial of pregnancy.

When she wakes up, Chloe's behavior destabilizes those around her, and in particular Simoni. The director announces to all the staff that everyone will be interviewed by the legal department. Alyson, Hugo and Arben find themselves with their backs to the wall.

It's winter, the hospitals are overwhelmed. At Poincaré Hospital, a pipe burst, flooding the Emergency Department, which must retreat to internal medicine. Alyson and Hugo continue their internship in the department. Chloé does everything she can to return to practice despite her fragile health. No one has heard from Arben, who disappeared without leaving a word. They must face a hospital in crisis, under the authority of Doctor Olivier Brun, the charismatic head of the Emergency Department.

Patients poisoned by carbon monoxide are admitted to the Emergency Department, sorted and treated. Arben, who arrived with them as a first aider, carefully avoids his former colleagues. Alyson fights for her patient to go to the hyperbaric chamber, while Hugo is sent there by Brun and Wagner to supervise the reoxygenation of patients.

Arben manages to keep his secret when he finds himself face to face with his former colleagues. Because of the incident in the hyperbaric chamber, Hugo is assigned to the patient reception desk. Alyson reveals herself in her new missions in the Emergency Room. Chloé, still in difficulty, fails to diagnose measles.

The discovery of an unconscious patient shocks the entire team and triggers an internal investigation. On this occasion, Doctor Brun discovers how chaotic patient management is. Arben clandestinely treats a patient, with the complicity of Chloé.

Hugo discovers that Mrs. Marciano was Igor's patient and must inform Olivier Brun. He begins to worry about his friend who is showing signs of mental overload. Chloé is troubled by one of her new patients, Joachim Prigent, who is ambiguous with her. Brun offers Arben to work in the emergency room as a backup...

Following the incident with Mrs. Marciano, Brun reorganizes the operation of the Emergency Room. Igor tries to put on a good face but he is showing signs of exhaustion. Hugo is once again in conflict with his mother who refuses him a painkiller for a patient in great distress. Nathalie discovers that Arben has returned and asks him to leave.

Alyson surprises Arben and Nathalie in the middle of a discussion and thinks she understands the reasons for her departure. Hugo is increasingly worried about Igor who did not come to work. Alyson, supported by Brun, makes a radical decision for her orientation. Chloé is threatened with reclassification but the young woman faces...

Hugo finds Igor, unconscious, in the hyperbaric chamber. Was it an accident or a suicide attempt? The hospital is in shock.

It's summer. By decision of the health authorities, and to allow healthcare workers to rest, many hospital departments have been closed. The remaining ones are overwhelmed... The tension with the population is palpable. During a SOS Médecins intervention, Alyson is aggressively confronted by the family of a patient who has been waiting for an ambulance for six hours. She calls Hugo for help.

Following Alyson's assault, SOS Médecins went on strike, leaving a large portion of the population without access to medical care. Patients are arriving in droves at the emergency room. Brun, Arben, and Chloé try to cope, with help from Alyson and Hugo. Despite Chloé and Arben's repeated requests, Brun opposes the opening of additional beds. To avoid leaving patients without care, Chloé and Arben decide to proceed without his approval.

Brun decides to reopen the SMUR, however, the system quickly shows its limits and patients find themselves without a solution. Chloé, Arben, Hugo and Alyson begin to welcome them in the clandestine hospital, the California hospital.

Arben finds himself locked in the "California hospital", without means of communication. He waits for Chloé, Hugo and Alyson to take over. But they do not arrive.

Arben, Alyson, Hugo and David realize that the clandestine service is not viable. For Chloé, it is the only solution. She remains determined to maintain the "California".

Brun discovers with amazement the existence of the "California hospital" set up by Chloé, Arben, Hugo and Alyson; he orders them to reintegrate the clandestine patients into the real hospital.
