"The Bolzano thriller: Herz-Jesu-Blut" was staged by a well-rehearsed team: director Thorsten Näter and cameraman Achim Hasse. The screenplay is again by Jürgen Werner. The personal involvement is not only highly emotional in the cases, there are also some biases in the investigative team due to unspoken feelings - especially between the main characters Ms. Inspector Schwarz and her Capo Zanchetti, played by Chiara Schoras and Tobias Oertel. Carla Pisani (Jeanette Hain), an anti-mafia investigator from Rome, also appears who is out to prove Matteo's links to organized crime. She also puts Charlotte Keller (Julia Stemberger) under pressure, who is now in prison, so that she can open up about her dealings with the seedy restaurateur Rossi (Thomas Sarbacher). But Charlotte receives a painful warning from her fellow prisoners.

Despite the police investigation, leader Daniele wants to do the last big thing as planned. However, the fact that one of them went into the judge's office on his own caused mutual distrust in the gangster trio. Keeping a cool head is also difficult for Sonja: stepdaughter Laura (Charleen Deetz) has fallen in love with a young man (François Goeske) of all people, whose family is close to the mafia governor in Bolzano, Rossi (Thomas Sarbacher).

Sonja Schwarz (Chiara Schoras) is busy with a new murder case. In order to solve the violent death of a driver in a marble factory, she once again has to neglect her work on the winery. Now, of all times, she cannot rely on the detective team either: there is a leak there. In addition, special investigator Carla Pisani (Jeanette Hain) is targeting "Capo" Zanchetti (Tobias Oertel), who gambles in illegal poker rounds at night. The new governess of the "family" in Bolzano, the unscrupulous mafia lawyer Giulia Santoro (Susanna Simon), not only has the task of tracking down and eliminating Rossi, but also of killing Matteo. "Capo" Matteo Zanchetti (Tobias Oertel) finally knows who is behind the assassination attempt on him: Mafia boss Saffione (Christian Redl), who blames the commissioner for the death of his son and daughter. In order to protect his partner Sonja (Chiara Schoras) as well as colleagues and relatives from the revenge of his archenemy, Matteo sees only one way out: he flies to Bari on his own to eliminate the powerful mafia boss. Her only support is the helpful taxi driver Riccardo (Stefano Bernardin), whom she reluctantly confides in. Matteo, on the other hand, soon realizes that he is caught between the fronts of a dangerous power struggle within the mafia. Meanwhile, Jonas Kerschbaumer (Gabriel Raab) wants to use his bosses' absence in Bolzano to create facts in the investigation against his friend and colleague Sofia (Sinja Dieks). Sonja's affair from Bari also plays an obscure role: Riccardo Riello (Stefano Bernardin), undercover investigator of the DIA, turns up as Lagagna's driver in Bolzano. But can Sonja really trust him?
