Meet the Richardsons - Episode Guide

Lucy wants Jon to appear on All Star and Mrs playing against Rob Beckett. Jon's still annoyed that Beckett replaced him on 8 Out of 10 Cats and doesn't want to take part if Rob's involved. To celebrate the Richardsons' move to Hebden Bridge, Lucy stages a huge birthday party for daughter Elsie. Jon is against the party but is finally convinced to take part by a family friend: the all-round entertainer and comedy legend Bernie Clifton.

Jon appears on Countdown with his comedy hero Jack Dee, who gives him some career advice. Lucy secretly signs Jon up to be the celebrity judge at the World Dock Pudding Competition in Hebden Bridge. And Jon's not happy when he finds out. But it's Lucy who is really annoyed when she finds evidence that Jon is having a celebrity affair with an 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown co-star.

Lucy goes on a wild night out in London with TV personality Alan Carr, while back in Hebden Bridge, Jon spends the night with his best friend, Matt Forde.

The Richardsons finally get invited to the showbiz event of the year: the Jonathan Ross Halloween party. Lucy's excited, especially when she meets Jason Donovan at the party, but she's not as excited as Jon who has an audition to be a voice in a Pixar film – his lifelong dream.

Chris Kamara invites Jon to take part in a Leeds United fundraiser for deprived children. Jon's against celebrity endorsement, but the Leeds connection makes him agree to do it. While he's away, Lucy tries to enrol Elsie in a private school - against Jon's wishes.

Lucy remembers the time she was in an episode of "Doctors" acting alongside "Fleabag" star Phoebe Waller Bridge. Jon's never seen the footage. Until now. Lucy's sitcom with "Car Share" co-creator Tim Reid is ready for a BBC run-through, with Johnny Vegas as one of its stars. But Jon hates the script. Johnny Vegas reckons that Jon's catchphrase "Save it for bingo" will be bigger than his catchphrase "monkey". Jon's not that bothered, because his Pixar film role is almost in the bag.

In the Christmas special, Jon wants to give daughter Elsie the perfect vegan Christmas. But what he doesn't know is that Lucy has invited her mother Gill and Johnny Vegas over for the festivities. Vegas can't believe his luck when he gets to stay in Jon's pub for the duration. And is he falling in love with Lucy's mum? UKTV has already commissioned a second season. Season two centres on the further frustrations of married life, the clash of career and personal life and how Jon and Lucy have been coping since viewers last saw them, including dealing with life after lockdown, which Jon predicted of course, creating the perfect family Christmas and Lucy's mum Gill spotting some spooky going's on in The Dog and Bastard.

The Richardsons plans for a quiet family Christmas are thrown into even more chaos when more celebrities turn up unexpectedly, but it's perfect for the panto that Lucy wants to put on for Elsie. Did Lucy really get so drunk at Jools Holland's Hootenanny that she invited Jason Donovan over for Christmas dinner? And are they about to get a new stepfather in law in the shape of Johnny Vegas for Christmas?

Married comics Jon Richardson and Lucy Beaumont embrace life under lockdown. Jon has the only pub allowed to open in the country which happens to be in his converted garage. Lucy gets in touch with an old flame and starts work on the pilot for her BBC sitcom, directed by Johnny Vegas.

Jon starts work on his dream project, a documentary about his idol the Yorkshire singer songwriter Jake Thackray - with co-host Sally Phillips. Meanwhile, Lucy attempts to reignite the passion in her marriage and gets some unorthodox advice from her mother and a romantic break away goes wrong.

Jon and Lucy throw a wedding anniversary party. Lucy manages to insult Sally Phillips and Jon gets someone fired from his local garden centre.

Jon manages to wreck the family home while Lucy starts a new project with Rob Beckett. Sally Phillips tries to help the Richardsons inject some passion into their sex lives.

Jon tries to sell the house to Kevin McCloud even though Kevin put Jon's phone number on TV last year. While Lucy and her Mum Gill return to Hull to make a documentary about aliens for Brian Cox, Russell Howard reveals all about Jon's drug use.

After a gig with Dane Baptiste, Jon realizes his career is having a bit of a lull so he tries to meet his all-time hero, Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa for inspiration. Comedian Alex Brooker comes over to check out Jon's pub and Lucy and her mum film a new TV show called Stand By Your Mam - with Mrs Barbara Nice (Janice Connolly).

Jon and Lucy are thinking of moving to London but are struggling to tell the neighbours. So, to break the bad news they take them away for a camping trip in Bridlington. Red Dwarf legend Craig Charles comes around because he fancies buying a house with a pub. And is there a chance Lucy can play herself in her sitcom?

It's Jon's birthday and Lucy has organized a really great surprise for him - it's The Masked Singer of Mytholmroyd and he'll have to sing to a crowd of locals. On his birthday! It's finally the recording of Lucy's BBC sitcom with Johnny Vegas. And things are going to change for the Richardsons because they are moving to London. But how can they tell the neighbours?

Meanwhile, old neighbours, Emma and Damion pay a visit and offer their opinion of Jon and Lucy's new next-door neighbours. Jon needs an escape route and makes a big decision about an old unloved local pub.

Jon and Lucy reluctantly agree to look after their new neighbours' hamster. But with Lucy away filming a gameshow, Jon's left with sole responsibility for the mini pet. Jon tries out new stand-up material at a gig with fellow comedian Joel Dommett, and he grabs the chance to do a Leeds United podcast, recorded with Gaby Roslin.

Lucy jets off to LA to launch her Hollywood career leaving Jon on his own with a plan to prank his best mate, Matt Forde, and a potentially career defining audition with a genuine TV legend. Jessica Knappett makes a guest appearance.

They hope that this could win them a BAFTA but it turns out that quite a few people off the telly have already visited the town. And the RV stinks a bit. Luckily Seann Walsh is on hand to make sure the show stays funny.

Jon and Lucy are off to Blackpool to make the second half of their TV travel show with Sally Lindsay. Jon's excited because he's getting to ride the big one all by himself but Lucy's worried he'll be upset his name's not on the comedy carpet alongside funnyman Joe Pasquale. The question is, how far will Jon go to give the programme the big showbiz ending that it needs?

Jon's having a midlife crisis as his 40th birthday looms and it doesn't help when Ben Elton is in the audience of his work in progress show. Meanwhile, Lucy meets Katherine Ryan at The National Comedy Awards and uses it as her chance to get some career advice.

Lucy needs to make new comedy friends quickly when she's offered the chance to front an all-female sketch show, but only if she can get some serious A-listers onboard like Katherine Ryan. Jon's Uber rating has taken a serious bashing since Gill's been using his account so he's on a mission to befriend as many Uber drivers as he can and get his 5-star rating back. Later, he meets up with comedian Richard Herring, who wants to discuss the possibility of a new comedy partnership. And Lucy gets the chance to be the new voice of Aldi, but Jon's not happy about her using the show as a commercial venture.

Lucy tries to up her telly game with quiz show lessons from Russell Kane. Jon and Lucy get help from a relationship therapist, and Jon manages to anger the usually unflappable Dan Walker at the local curry house.

Jon gets much-needed life advice from new best friend Adrian Chiles, and Lucy grabs the chance to find her famous father and takes on Clare Grogan and Tamzin Outhwaite in a charity pub quiz.
