Top Gear: BBC flagship show will not return for 'foreseeable future'

"Given the exceptional circumstances, the BBC has decided to rest the UK show for the foreseeable future. The BBC remains committed to Freddie, Chris and Paddy who have been at the heart of the show's renaissance since 2019, and we're excited about new projects being developed with each of them. We will have more to say in the near future on this. We know resting the show will be disappointing news for fans, but it is the right thing to do."

Top Gear moves to BBC One

As revealed by Top Gear presenters Freddie Flintoff and Chris Harris on BBC Breakfast today, Charlotte Moore, Director of BBC Content has confirmed that the world’s biggest motoring entertainment show is moving to the nation’s favourite channel for its 29th series later this year.

Lancashire lads Paddy McGuinness, the primetime entertainment host and comedian, and former Ashes-winning England cricketer and TV presenter Freddie Flintoff, will join motoring journalist and racing-driver Chris Harris in what promises to be one of television’s most explosive combinations of entertainment firepower and petrolhead fumes. And the all-British team were officially unveiled at a photocall this morning on the banks of the River Thames in central London, flanked by a red Aston Martin.
