1983, the city of Brezhnev (modern Naberezhnye Chelny). 15-year-old Arthur's parents send him to a pioneer camp, where he meets two counselors - Vitalik Solovyov and Marina. This meeting becomes fateful for everyone. Solovyov is a former Afghan, a strong, handsome, cheerful and smart guy. In a skirmish with local hooligans, he saves Arthur and his friends. The next meeting of the guys will take place in the city: Marina will come to work at the school where Arthur studies, and Vitalik will become a driver for one of the factory bosses, and then for Vadim Vazykh, Arthur's father.
