Genres

On Tvrage was a lot of genres, can you add more genres like "Super Heroes", "Sketch/Improv" "Finance" "Talent" on this site ?

Genres on this site are really only suited for scripted shows.

Wouldnt mind seing Lifestyle, Outdoors, Science, Celebrities, Interviews, Current Events ..etc too

Reality shows are a really wide range of different shows, so simply tagging them reality with no further details isn't optimal.

And it really irks me that all the various british panel shows are listed as game shows...

I am almost pretty sure our genre list will not become much bigger than now. It might add one or two in the future, but they are definitely not the ones you were stating. TVMaze has already told multiple times that it doesn't want the genre list to become too much like it was on TVrage or TVDB.

If i had to lobby for one it'd be "Celebrities".. So I could tag all the "Follow some celebrity around with a camera" type shows and filter them out of my feeds easily.

Following a celeb is basically a reality show :), sure that one would not be added too

Reality covers alot, So two shows like "American Idol" and "Keeping up with the Kardashians" are both classified as reality, but aren't otherwise comparable at all.

Anyway don't think it is really necessary to add genres for reality or any other show, but scripted.

I do. There's a lot more non-scripted shows out there vs scripted ones, Not just reality, a lot of the documentaries (I use the term loosely) on the Discovery/History/NatGeo type chans don't really have a lot of genres that fit either, and they too have such a a wide range of topics that simply saying Docu doesn't quite cut it, imo.

Part of this might be solvable if you could tag shows without following them first. You can make a tag say anything you like, but the problem is you can only tag shows you follow.

It's more about a site that's supposed to give you accurate information about tv shows actually give you the most accurate information possible.

That's on the list! I really want to work on that, though it's currently ranked a bit low. If you want it, vote for "Better Tag Management" on http://www.tvmaze.com/forums/6/pending-features :)
