Future episode titles for Lucifer?

Cereal_Killer wrote 9 years ago: 1

Hi there can anyone tell me how to proceed in the following case.

So today i was reading the press releases for a couple of shows and one got my attention and that is Fox's Lucifer. The show is great and i'm going to follow it, however there is slight difference in the names of the episodes that are coming out in the future and i will explain.

The next episodes will be named as follow but there is a conflict on a few of them on a different sources.

S01E04 -Manly Whatnots (here there is conflict on some sources it says that, but that names is directly from Fox's press release), Sweet Kicks (on others this is the name).

S01E05 - Sweet Kicks (here is another conflict on some sources this is the name of season 1 episode 5), Favorite Son (on others it's this).

S01E06 - Favorite Son (this is the other conflict on some sources is like this), Wingman (on others that is the name).

S01E07 - Wingman (Another conflict, on some sources this is the name), Et Tu, Doctor? (on some that is the name including here).

S01E08 - Et Tu, Doctor? (another conflict), A Priest Walks Into A Bar (on some sources like here this is the name).

S01E09 - A Priest Walks Into A Bar (another conflict), Pops (on some sources this is the name).

S01E10 - Manly Whatnots (another conflict, here it's like this the name of the episode), Pops (on other sources this is the name of the episode).

My question is what should the names be? And not just for this series but all series that have naming conflicts with some sources?

My main question is what should i do?

The most important source is the networks press release and the networks own website, this is how the episodes should be named.

In case that the on screen episode name is different at the time they actually air, it can be corrected.

cheers

So basically what i see here and different sources around the web are not that important as the press release and the air name is shown on the website or on the tv.

Well, the press release of the network airing the show and the own networks website should always be the first source for information.

We should change the episode names to what the press release / network website says.

cheers
Juan

Ok so what i have provided as names are from other sources, the only name that i changed here when i was adding info for an episode was Manly Whatnots which was different here, but it was the name of the press release. For the others i can't be sure which is the correct one. So for now i think it should be like this, if you (or admin or someone else) think that it should change then ok.

Perhaps you could provide URL links for the sources you're using? It's hard to assess them if it's not listed who they are or what they say.

The press release on the FOX site does not show me any episode titles, futon critic has the first four episodes listed and they have the same titles that we have, so I think we are good for now :)

Ok i will, but it might be considered an advertisement. But i will.
http://stvplus.com/show/587/Lucifer#episodes (this is probably my most used site of all)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucifer_%28TV_series%29#Episodes

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4052886/episodes?season=1&ref_=tt_eps_sn_1

We have the first four eps listed like all other sites, the rest is just TBA and I cannot find a press release staing episode names, so just let us wait a week or two and then we will know for sure :)

Wikipedia gets its material from somewhere else. It's never a source unto itself, although it's sometimes useful as a compilation of other sources. That's what those little footnote numbers indicate. At least some of them seem to be reliable.

IMDB is contributor-based, and about as reliable as you'd expect from that.

I'm not familiar with STVPlus, and it doesn't appear to be an official site. My guess would be that it got its information from Wikipedia.

I wouldn't use IMDB though for series. It is pretty much unreliable when it is about series. The only way I use IMDB for series is to determine a character name when unsure.

Wikipedia is wikipedia, many sources are correct, but many are incorrect too.

STVPlus I am not familiar with either, seems more like wiki as gadfly previously told. Deadline or Variety are the most common press release sites from my experience.

Please refer to http://www.tvmaze.com/faq/15/episodes :)

An episode should only be added to TVmaze after it has been announced by one of the valid sources above. Either the episode name or release date has to be known before an episode can be added. Adding "TBA" episodes beyond that point is not welcome.

Other sources like IMDB or SpoilerTV should explicitly not be used as a reference for future episodes. The wikipedia page however quotes a few episode titles from the show's official twitter account (https://twitter.com/LUCIFERwriters), which is fine to use over here as well. ("Statements by show crew in articles / interviews").

Well as i said the whole episode naming is not really an official one, but stvPlus is a great source. IMDB i know is community based, however sometimes they get it right, and from the looks of it somebody when creating the episodes was using IMDB for the episodes names. Wikipedia is well known source for a lot of people and many times wrong because of the many people can edit, change and so on, so basically is not really a good source, however like IMDB sometimes there is a good and correct information so i use it. As for Spoiler TV it's a great website, and i follow it as closely as tvmaze and i consider it a good source of info, because most of the info comes directly from the networks and not from other websites, so i consider it most on point and correct on info.

But everything that i'm adding to this website is directly from press releases by the networks.
