Contribution Leaderboards

JuanArango wrote 9 years ago: 1

Hello all,

we are proud to finally announce the introduction of user leaderboards for contribution points.
You are able to see the top 10 contributors daily and the top 25 contributors monthly.

The link for it is: http://www.tvmaze.com/users

We are currently discussing where we should add a link for the leaderboards on tvmaze.
If you got any suggestions where it could fit in nicely, please let us know.

cheers and happy contributing
Juan

It should probably be linked to from the user profiles and stat pages. By default, it could highlight that user's standing when clicked with the option to view overall standings.

I'm not quite sure why it's only been announced now, is it because you've added more formatting to it?

To add shows, you simply click on this link and fill in as much as possible; http://www.tvmaze.com/request/create

To add a new threat, go into one of the topics of our forum and there will be a button to create a new show at the bottom.

In addition to the contribution leaderboard, there's been a change in the calculation for contribution points as well. Previously, the score was simply a reflection of the number of edits you've made. Now, the calculation is more sophisticated: you'll receive more points for large edits (such as creating an Episode) than for small edits (such as creating a Cast Appearance). In addition, requesting shows (http://www.tvmaze.com/request) will now earn you points as well, and the more details you provide in the request, the more points you'll receive.

All of this has been applied retroactively to everyone's score. :)

Very nice addition, sir!

Not really that bothered by stats myself, but I know plenty others will be & hopefully, more info will now get added to episodes / people,/ guest cast etc in order for users to get their scores up a bit :)

Two items I wish to ask about please? 1. The daily has been stuck on 5 March for 2 days now will this ever advance to the next day? Hopefully when it does update you/we will be able to go back and forth to the previous days to compare? 2. David you said points for submitting shows are now in effect does that also include those of us who can add shows directly without having to submit them through the normal request process as well?

Hi Jaguardog,
Are you going to the following url http://www.tvmaze.com/user/
Or are you using a parameter behind it?
cheers,
Jan

Thanks Jan, I was using a link that Juan sent me so I must assume it was just to look at, thanks for the new link now. My 2nd question please?
