The character, formerly Vanya, will be transitioning at some point in the show, becoming Viktor, at least according to this twitter post https://twitter.com/UmbrellaAcad/status/1508897582646505476?cxt=HHwWiMC5geyW1_ApAAAA.  If we don't have some character on the page called Viktor, it will be very confusing when show summaries mention him.

I would agree that we should be listing a character who has transitioned by the name they are now known as in the same way we would change gender and/or name when a person irl transitions. But if its part of a storyline then perhaps not until that episode has aired.

Agreed, thank you everybody :)

The people reading summaries would be people who have been watching the show though, so they'd know the situation.

My thought on this is that since this is a TV show, changing it to Viktor at all would be a spoiler for those who haven't watched the show yet, especially streaming shows where people watch it at their own pace sometimes years later. Is it ideal to keep it as Vanya when going forward it's Viktor? No. But once it's been broadcast and we change it, then everybody who starts the show at a later date and looks at the page will know a very specific change that happens later in the series, especially since this is a show-specific development and isn't in the source material. Maybe it's a stretch, but to me this is a somewhat similar situation to not putting a superhero alias on a character name unless the person had the name from their first appearance or when a character gets married and changes their name. In those cases, we use the original name and put later changes as an AKA. If it had been a situation where it was an alternate reality where it was always Viktor from the start, or he was "Viktor" from the start of the show and "Vanya" was shown in flashbacks pre-transition played by somebody else, like when Laverne Cox's brother played her character pre-transition, then that'd call for two character entries... I'd even be cool with this being an exception to the rule for this very specific kind of situation and making a new entry anyway and that would then avoid spoilers with future character images.

I'm ok with either choice, but just because other sites are willing to plaster spoilers everywhere doesn't mean we should.

At the very least, we should wait and see how it actually plays out. It's supposed to be about changes to the timeline after season 2, maybe making a new entry might end up being the way to go.

I have a question about Mary Berry's Fantastic Feasts the first official series begins this week but there have actually been two episodes before that could be labelled as a significant special

Mary Berry Saves Christmas (2020) & Mary Berry Festive Feasts (2021)

These episodes had the exact same format of what will be Fantastic Feasts and are actually the lead in to why the upcoming series was greenlit.

However because they aired seperately and have different titles they can't be created as their own seperate show or as a franchise hence why two significant specials could be set up? I would like advice on what should be done in this situation.

Thanks :)

As they premiered on TV I would say they should be added as specials, what do our Brit experts say? @TonyMayhew @TomSouthwell

BBC would have linked the two specials when they aired to one page - but they haven't. I'd be against adding them at all as we have a number of seasonal one off specials every year that we don't add for the same reason.

Do they have the same cast, production and stuff?

Yes it's the same host and if you go to the production it's the same executive producers for both those specials and the upcoming series and production company is the same all the way through. But like @tomsouthwell says it's an odd one when it comes to these seasonal eps.

Is it possible to merge two shows together? This is a bit like the issue with Dynasties & Dynasties II a couple of weeks back. They were promoted seperately but later linked by BBC as Series 1 and Series 2.

Over on ITV it was originally promoted as Ant & Dec's DNA Journey and that lead to the main series DNA Journey. Now they are being linked as Series 1, 2 & 3 both in the on screen promotion of the show and by ITV themselves on ITV Hub.

Can someone look into merging all episodes under the Title DNA Journey 53788 please

Mary Berry could have a deal with that production company, would we suddenly start adding every episode to that show because the production team are the same? If the BBC are keeping all three seperate then we should be too.

It would be against policy to rewrite the shows history becsuse ITV has now put them tohgether when both were commissioned individually at first. What we have listed is correct as per our policies.

Rewriting history after an episode has premiered is never accepted. For example, if a show's official website indicates that a certain episode belongs to season 1, but changes it to season 2 a year afterwards, it should remain listed as season 1.

The difference with Dynasties is that the show had yet to air before they moved the episodes to the older series.
