Pending Verification

deletedjb wrote 8 years ago: 1

Hello, every time I try to add a new episode or edit an existing episode of a show's page I keep getting the "Pending Verification" error message. Please advise.

Thanks

Jay

Many (if not most) of your recent edits are questionable at best, if not to say wrong. You're adding duplicate episodes and messing with already existed. I'm checking your edits and it looks like you do not comprehend the concept of the "Special" and not paying attention to (or ignoring intentionally) the TVmaze data policy.

My advice would be to read the policy thoroughly and use the edit requests forum for the time being.

So are you saying that I can't edit at the moment?

Hi Jay,

Please read the policy and confirm that you understand what it entails. The point of levels is to make sure all contributors are providing data that aligns with our policy. It's alright to make mistakes as long as you don't keep repeating them.

best,

Jan

Which policy should I been reading as there are different ones?

Generally anything which you frequently work on. The Episode policy would be a good start, but understanding all of them would be best.

Preferably all to avoid any misunderstanding.

I can confirm that I have now read all of the policies and understand what it entails - I didn't see any mention of using the ITV Press Office when dealing with ITV based shows though

ITV Press Office would be counted as a press site (#2 in the Valid Sources section of the Episodes policy).

If there's an issue related to a particular show that one of us sends you a message about, you can send the link to the press office as proof.

The last statement clearly indicates, that you either glanced at it briefly or not really understand it. Read carefully.

But in some cases it can be more complicated to tell whether an episode is a special or not. If so, refer to the order of the valid sources as described above.

At the moment we list 1478 networks. You don't expect that every single one would be mentioned in the policy, don't you? ))
