Is ABC Wasting Roseanne?

It just sunk in that 'The Middle', a show ending this year after a 9 year run, directly follows 'Roseanne' ... isn't that wasting a great lead out spot that could go to a new, or newish ABC comedy? Wouldn't 'Alex, Inc' or 'Splitting Up Together' be better off getting that 8:30 time slot and viewer boost?

I have no opinion on this as I am not a huge comedy fan, besides South park, but that is a whole different thing :)

Perhaps I should start a "Is Comedy Central Wasting South Park?" thread? ;)

To me it makes sense.as ABC doesn't really have that many comedies to chose from and you'll want a show that's similar in tone to the lead-out so the viewers stick with it. With that in mind The Middle might be the closest match they have, both being about working families.

Given the polarizing views on Roseanne and the type of viewers that it attracts because of it, I don't see pairing it with a show about divorce working out.

They could contrast it with black-ish or fresh off the boat; I still can't believe they let the writers crap on two of their comedies.
