Expedition Unknown has what appears to be an after show (like Talking Dead) ... and from a copy I just took a peak at that's what it looks like. Other references seem to call them "specials" with extra material. http://www.tvmaze.com/shows/612/expedition-unknown/episodes lists them as specials of the main show.
http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news/2018/05/08/all-new-episodes-of-expedition-unknown-starring-josh-gates-premiere-this-summer-on-discovery-channel-271214/20180508discovery01/ shows the upcoming, like previous, after shows immediately follow the main show ... which seems strange you would air an enhanced episode immediately after the original. I've uploaded a screen cap (http://www.tvmaze.com/images/389753/after-the-hunt-unmasked-the-queens-of-egypt-image-389753) to try to show the format. I think this should be a stand alone series. Travel Channel seems to be silent on it other than it's press release(s). At the start he encourages viewer questions making it at least appear to be live.
Earlier this month I created the show (http://www.tvmaze.com/shows/36649/expedition-unknown-after-the-hunt) and before I continue to populate it with new episodes, and move old mothership "specials", I just wanted to confirm that this, in your opinions, is indeed a stand alone show.
I'll toss it out here now ... I think there may exist Expedition Unknown: Hunt for Extraterrestrials: After the Hunt ... again I thought I had copies but can not currently find them. If/when I locate copies or online confirmations ... should these be yet another stand alone series or could they be grouped in under Expedition Unknown: After The Hunt ... considering it an after show for all the various Expedition Unknown series past, present and future?
Sorry to be a pest but I find Travel Channel generally, and Expedition Unknown specifically to be a dogs breakfast trying to keep all the series, episodes, and specials straight.
