Carter is seeing enough success on Bravo in Canada that it is getting a chance on broadcast TV. CTV begins airing the series July 24th in Canada. The Star article (link below) notes a number of international broadcasts. While not enough to suggest a second season, it does seem Carter is at least getting a chance to attract a world wide audience.
Coincidentally I started watching the show today. From the looks of it, this show will most likely get a second season.
Yes, no bad show
Sadly, Denis Akiyama who played Koji Yasuda on the show has passed away at age 66. He was very good in the support role but more laid back than his wife, Dot played by Brenda Kamino. Dot is a force to be reckoned with ... but how will she fare without her husband, assuming they do not recast the role.
