Shocked! Damn shame he didn't or couldn't get the help he so obviously needed. Condolences to his family, friends & fans. He will be missed.

Reading about Bourdain & Spade and suicide survivors and came across a great quote that came from someone on twitter ...

Suicide doesn't end pain, it just transfers it to someone else.

I can partially agree with that, but we never know what someone goes through who is committing suicide.

Fully agree. The quote though came from an article about those left behind ... parents, siblings, spouse(s), kids, friends, co-workers ... many of whom are left in pain for years, or life, with feelings of guilt, anger, sadness, etc. Both Bourdain & Spade left behind young children, amoungst others, who will now spend years trying to deal with their pain. It's just sad all around.

61, now-a-days, is not that old either. But the daughter he left behind was just 11. Katie Spade left behind a 13 y.o. daughter
