error message while editing

So I was just randomly trying to update an older show https://www.tvmaze.com/shows/30650/the-search-for-the-next-elvira

I was only trying to add a summary to episodes as they already were listed. But I get the following message upon hitting enter:

Please fix the following errors:

Bad airdate! Show is scheduled to air on Sundays, but this date is a Saturday. Note that episodes airing after midnight should belong to the previous day's date.

So for the first 3 episodes I figured I'd change the date from the Saturday date to Sunday and that worked. But the fourth episode aired on October 31, which was a Wednesday. So I changed the date to the next date, but it says it's a Thursday and won't accept that either. Note that I originally only tried to add a summary without changing any other info and still got this message.

This is the first time I've ever encountered this. Would this mean that any show that has a listed weekday (in this case Saturday) won't accept any alternate day being added? It's not that uncommon for shows to air episodes on alternate days. I'm a little stumped as to what should be done here....

This happens only with the shows that scheduled after midnight, to force using the correct (per policy) airdate.

I think what happened here is that the episodes were added, and the schedule for the show was set after that. Apparently some episodes was not aired on Sundays at 00:00, so when you tried to edit one of those episodes, upon saving the system found the inconsistency and flag it.

This feature is useful, however it should be tweaked IMO to: a) have effect only on the latest season; b) do not have effect on trusted contributors and higher. Apparently we know what we're doing, right? :)

Meanwhile you could just remove the schedule while working with such shows, so it won't bother you. To do this you edit the show properties and Ctrl-Click (Cmd-Click on Mac) on the scheduled day, the selection should be cleared.

I wonder why the show's schedule was set to Sundays in the first place, if the episodes actually were aired on Saturdays? But considering who was the original contributor, this question became purely rhetorical :D

I'm also a bit confused by the wording of the message. If a show is promoted as airing Saturdays at midnight, the language here would imply we want it to be listed on tvmaze as Fridays at midnight.

I saw you went back and changed some dates, so had I done it wrong? 1x03 aired Oct 20 which was a Saturday.... is that right per policy? if it's airing after midnight then should it be dated for Oct 19?

I assume that the episodes were aired at midnight between Saturday and Sunday, right? I think they wanted the finale to air on Halloween night, not the day after :)

Think of it this way: the single TV dayis from 5:00 AM 'till 4:59 AM next day.

Here's the direct quote from the policy (I could've said it better :)

For example, if an episode airs after midnight between Monday the 1st and Tuesday the 2nd, the airdate should be set to the 1st; even though technically the proper date would be the 2nd.

So in our case airdates was right, but the show's schedule was wrong.

ok. It makes sense. Still think the error code will trip up people if adding a show on an alternate night though it will probably be rare at that hour.

Thanks for the helpful replies. :)
