Babies

Hi !

I just wanted to clarify something. If two actors portray the same character, I know we're supposed to credit them as the same character. But with babies, they often portray the same character in the same episode, so crediting the same characters multiple times in the same episode doubles the number of appearances... which is weird, because then the character is listed as appearing in 40 episodes, but he really appeared in 20, so do we still have to credit the two actors as the same character ? What about "11-Year-Old Jack" and this kind of credits, should it be credited as Jack or 11-Year-Old Jack ? Because maybe adult Jack isn't appearing in this episode so we can credit the young version as the same character, but then if they young and adult versions both appear in the same episode ?

(Yeah, that's a lot of questions, sorry^^)

Or maybe there should be a system that only counts one appearance per episode ?

If young and adult version of the character are credited separately, they should be added as a separate characters. So if you have Jack and 11-Years-Old Jack in the credits, you should add two separate characters.
If the same character is, for example, growing over the series run, and therefore portrayed by different actors of different age, but still credited as the same character – all actors should share the same character's page. For example https://www.tvmaze.com/characters/342238/the-walking-dead-henry. Yes, this is a bit confusing in terms of character's image, but maybe someday we will have the ability to choose, which character's image display for which actor.

Considering the number of appearances – well, I suppose this thing probably need to be fixed at some point. But crediting both babies as a single character (the way they are credited on screen) is the right thing to do. For example https://www.tvmaze.com/characters/494617/the-blacklist-agnes-keen

Okay, I'll change the mistakes I made then !

But I definitely think something needs to be done about the appearances count.
