Action should be added as genre to Sense8

Can we do away with Thriller and add Action as a genre to Sense8? I think action is a way more appropriate genre than thriller because thriller usually applies to movies and shows where there is a high degree of fear. Thrillers are similar to horror but less gruesome. Whereas action applies to this because there are a lot of fighting scenes and car chases and such, and it just describes this series a lot better than thriller.

I definitely agree with this, Action suits more to it.

Action? Did we both watch an entire different series? I found it more thrilling than action plus Netflix categorizes it as ''Thriller'' nd Sci-fi too, which I think we should stick to.

So based on a trailer you think it should be action over thriller? I don't think so and the action part from my perspective over two seasons is definitely less than the thriller parts..... I think we should stick to Netflix their genres, which uses ''Sci-fi'', ''Thriller'' and ''Drama''

I also agree that science fiction should stay because of the main characters' sense8 birth anomaly. And drama should stay because the characters deal with things like discrimination. That's why I think thriller is the one that should go.

Here is a similar show called Motherland: Fort Salem about witches who are being hunted and it's marked action not thriller:

I think this is all very subjective, I would also tend to action a bit more then thriller, but Thomas also has good arguments.

As the official site says thriller, I think it is best to stick with it.

Read this on Wikipedia about thrillers:

The protagonists are frequently ordinary citizens unaccustomed to danger

This to me is what makes something a thriller. Because the viewer can easily put him or herself into the shoes of the main characters. Therefore main characters with abilities such as in this series negate the thriller effect. You could make the argument that they've never been in danger before discovering their abilities. Fair enough. But it's hard to deny that action is what permeates this show.

Genres are very subjective to each one and this could always be argued by any of us whether it should be added or not, however FreeForm does not list any classification on their website that I could find, unlike Netflix.... Yes, genres are subject to opinion, but if a Network or Web channel specifically lists certain genres, I think we should stick to their official listings.

Also reading from those articles about this series, I highly doubt we should use action for it and perhaps change fantasy into supernatural, but that's my point of view.

https://www.tvmaze.com/faq/32/genre-definitions

Our policy states ''Series with a high level of tension and/or suspense'' ,

dpratt wrote 5 years ago: 1

That's too broad a definition, but fair enough.

From the data policies:

Action -- Series with high energy and plenty of physical stunts/activities.

Sense8 is full of choreographed fighting scenes, car chases, etc. It also meets the definition.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find any show with protagonists who have super powers that doesn't meet this definition. Thriller on the other hand is not something you usually see assigned to a show like this.
