Clarifications regarding alternate lists

When there are alternate lists for a show, does that mean the alternate episode numbering replace entirely the "main" episode numbering. Or does the alternate episode list only mask some episodes of the original ones?

For example, the "Stargate SG1" series has an alternate list splitting the pilot episode in two parts. The alternate list only covers the season 1:
https://www.tvmaze.com/shows/204/stargate-sg-1/episodes
https://www.tvmaze.com/alternatelists/175/stargate-sg-1-verbatim-order

Does that mean:

1) There are missing data and the alternate list should be extended to covers all the seasons of the show even if there is a 1:1 mapping beyond the first season;
2) The alternate list for season 1 entirely shadows the season 1 of the main list, but the other seasons remains unaffected;
3) Something else?

There's no way of knowing whether it's like it because it's missing data, or because it's the same.

The policy doesn't specify whether you should add everything (but it's the only way you'd know for sure).
