October 18

Editors who are uploading images to episodes (screencaps) will be happy to learn that you can now bulk add images for an entire season at once, instead of having to open each episode's upload form individually. Just go to the episode's gallery page -> "Create New", and you'll find the appropriate link there.

Lots of small changes over the last week, but there's too much of them to name them all individually! Some highlights are editor tools to easily spot which cast members and characters in a show don't have a picture added yet; the ability to search in a show's list of (main and guest-) characters; and improvements to the management of news articles.

If there's anything particular that you would like to see, don't hesitate to ask!

As you might have seen in the menu already, we just launched our Episode Calendar! If you visit it out as non-registered user you'll get a default view of the most popular currently running shows for this month, but of course the full potential is when you log in and start following your favorite shows: then you'll get a calendar with your favorite shows only.

The calendar was built for desktop, tablet and mobile; so check it out!

Besides a load of mostly-internal tweaks, we just launched the profile pages for the users (and writers!) here on tvmaze. For an example, check: http://www.tvmaze.com/users/23/cwm

Next up will be a dedicated "watch list" page, where you'll have an instant overview of which episodes from your favorite shows you still have to see. This should be completed any day now, so keep an eye out!

david wrote 9 years ago: 1

The watch list I was talking about earlier is now live! When you're logged in, you can access it via this URL: http://www.tvmaze.com/watchlist (if you're not registered yet, check https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B2_c9D1CAAAWjQQ.png:la... for a screenshot)

Make sure to follow (follow button's on the show page, beneath the poster!) the shows you're watching, and they will automatically appear on this page. Mark the episodes that you've already seen as watched, and what's left is an overview of all your favorite shows that you still have to catch up on: never again completely forget that one of your shows started airing again :)

Over the last two weeks, we mostly worked on behind-the-scenes stuff, like even faster load-times, even higher data quality, and the importer for former mytvshows.org users. This one's pretty visible though: head over to your profile, and you can now upload a custom user avatar :)

You can now follow a show from multiple locations.
-From the Detail Showpage - http://www.tvmaze.com/shows/116/the-mentalist (Under the show poster)
-From the Search Page - http://www.tvmaze.com/search?q=game+ (Inside the show poster. Right bottom corner)
-From the Showpage Listing - http://www.tvmaze.com/shows (Inside the show poster. Right bottom corner)

Filters have been added to the Showpage Listing to make it easier to find specific shows. (right side)

The header usermenu has been modified to speed up access to user functionality. You can now access your watchlist from there as well. (right top corner)

Lots of changes over the last two weeks! Amongst them..

- Specials are now displayed seperately on the episode list, for a cleaner view of shows with many specials scattered throughout the season.

- Episode airdates are now displayed in a friendly format everywhere

- The schedule layout was updated to better handle long show- or episodenames

- The information boxes (like on the calendar or watchlist page) can now be closed and will then stay hidden permanently

- Your watchlist can now be sorted by the show's last airdate / the show premiere date / your watch % for that show

- Various tweaks to make the site even faster

If you've recently visited the login or register page, you probably already noticed that we have been quietly testing social login: logging in through your facebook, google or twitter account. Since everything has proven to be working properly, we can now formally announce it here :)

The concept is simple and you might already know it from other websites: it allows you to log in to TVmaze without remembering a new set of username/password. The first time you connect a (for example) twitter account that is not yet linked with an account on TVmaze, a new TVmaze account is created and linked with that twitter account. Any subsequent time you click the twitter button to log in to TVmaze, you'll be seemlessly logged in through your twitter account.

If you already have a TVmaze account, you can still connect your twitter account by logging in to TVmaze and visiting http://www.tvmaze.com/auth/settings. Through here it's also possible to connect an extra source (for example, both twitter and facebook) or disconnect any sources you connected earlier.

An account that's registered through a social connection doesn't have a password set, so you can't login the old fashioned way. If you are ever locked out of your social account, simply click the "forgot password" link on the login page, and we'll send a password (re)set link to your email.

We just added support for iCal feeds to TVmaze!

If you have no idea what to do with this information: iCal is a standard that allows sharing calendar events between different services and applications. The feed we offer is a list of all airtimes for shows that you're following; basically what you see when you visit the calendar while logged in.

You can take this feed and import it in, for example, Google Calendar to show your TV schedule alongside your personal calendar. Adding it in Google Calendar even makes the calendar available on your Android phone! Almost every other application that works with calendars has an iCal import option as well, like Apple's calendar, Thunderbird or Microsoft Office.

Since the iCal feed is personal to every user, every user has their own specific URL. Head over to your dashboard to retrieve it, import away, and let us know if you have any questions :)
