"They" also say that only one person out of ten who is unhappy with something takes the time to complain about it, too. :)

Well,
I really do not know where you are going with this?

If this would be your site, would you change something because ONE contributor is not happy with it ?

I understand and believe you, that you are hindered/annoyed/or whatever by the size of the trailers. But we won't change this because of one person complaining about it, because we think the size of the trailer is good as it is and as long as there are not more people coming out and saying "hey guys, the size of your trailers really annoys me", we see no reason to do something about it.

Since you're specifically asking what I would do...

If it were my site, I'd either specifically ask contributors if it was a problem for them. Because many of them aren't going to volunteer the information, as I noted.

Or put it up for a vote.

Then I'd know or not if only ONE contributor is not happy with it.

I'm not saying what you should do. Only answering your question of what I would do.

Well,

many people come here on the forums and state their opinion what they love, what they find nice, what they dislike, what they miss, what they want to see in the future.

Why should this be different with this one subject "size of the trailers"?

If people would be annoyed by it they would say it, people said they wanted a sun-sat calendar because they miss it, people said they love the watchlist, people said that we need to improve the search results, I could go on for an hour, with all the things people said what they like here, dislike here or want to have here.

If they would want the trailers to be gone or smaller or whatever, they would say it :)

cheers
Juan

One of these days I'm just going to start removing posts when they become so extremely off-topic ;-)

I'm sure it's not intentional, but these posts completely off-topic to the original thread's subject are extremely harmful. To me because it makes it that much harder to keep track of all the feedback; and to the people posting it because it makes it a lot less likely that your post will ever be noticed and answered.

Again, since you're specifically asking me, I don't feel that the suggestions forum in and of itself is a good way of measuring user interest in a topic. And it seems to be used inconsistently.

For instance, you mention the sun-sat calendar. But only four people said they wanted it. a) That doesn't seem like "many people." b) it's only twice as many people as our saying that the trailer is too large, and c) there doesn't seem to be any thread in suggestions asking for a larger trailer spot.

(apologies if I missed a thread on A or C)

Since people are more likely to post on an existing topic than create a topic, that also means keeping this thread near the top of this forum is important to getting responses. That's what I mean about forums not being a good way to gauge feedback.

Anyway, if you want to keep this going, that's up to you, Juan. I've said my piece: the rest is just answering your questions to me.
