Option to disable specials in calendar

Personally, I don't watch specials, and since they don't show up in the watchlist, I think there should be an option to hide them in calendar too.

What drives me crazy that I see a missed episode, then realize it was just a 40 second long Youtube video (e.g. FTWD) :)

What happens when the special is just a continuation of the storyline but aired at a specific date like halloween or christmas ? You don't watch these ?

Like you would have missed the first regeneration episode from Spoiler to Spoiler if you didn't watch the christmas special for the new doctor who...

I don't watch Doctor Who so I don't have any experience with this kind of things. In my case, specials are just little webisodes, don't think I ever seen any special that carries forward the story.

Actually a lot of shows have specials. I can cite a few from the US, most very successful UK shows have them, even Australia has them. What you're talking about are webisodes, they may be specials, they could also be considered a different show entirely, i can think of a few like fear of the walking dead as a webisodes that was launched after the first season and could have their own show, for example...

All right, all right, it was a dumb idea :)

You were right, Bojack Horseman also had a Christmas special.

No it wasn't at all, i think something could be coded for webisodes if such a category was created. But to ignore all specials would make your viewing a bit unpredictable, you'd miss episodes of shows you actually watch like for example bojack :p

I totally agree with this. Or make these shorts, like for example Fear the Walking Dead, or The Curse of Oak Island into webisodes instead of specials. The calendar becomes cluttered with this.

The problem with removing specials from the watch list would also be that, if someone marked something as a Special when they shouldn't have, it would disappear from your calendar until it was restored.

Well, make it an option then, and have it show as default.

I agree with this suggestion, I'd really like an option on the fly to show/hide specials in watchlist and also in the calendar page!

There really should be a distinction between teasers/trailers/recaps, behind the scenes & webisodes and holiday specials that have actual plot that might even be relevant to the regular storyline (Downton Abbey, Doctor Who ect.)

And an option to see those in the watchlist.
I'm currently wading though tons of teasers and crap to figure out what is crap and what is plot and it requires going back to each series and check the specials and then look up what they are to know if it's a 10 sec sneak preview or a 45min holiday special.
