Streaming release times

Would like to once again raise the question of streaming service release times, with the release of The Acolyte tomorrow on Disney Plus. I know it's been stated before that global channels can't have release times set, but remember someone on staff saying there was discussion of changing this policy, Just wondering if there's been any new movement on that front. It's fairly well documented now that these services have consistent release times for new episodes, with most of them being 12am PST/3AM EST. This then raises the issue of airdates too, since episodes after midnight belong to the previous day, but I guess that's a problem for another day.

Although I agree with the sentiment, The Acolyte premieres June 4 at 6:00 PM PST/ 9:00 PM EST.
Translates to early on the 5th for those eagerly waiting in Europe. 02:00 BST, 03:00 CEST.
Which by the way Disney+ fully acknowledges: "Coming to Disney+ June 5, 2024".

The current policy results in the show appearing on the watchlists extra early, because that does take your local time into account.

My issue though is that it doesn't seem to take any local time into account, with all Disney  Plus shows showing up on my calendar as a blanket 8AM EST airtime. I would assume it shows an incorrect time for every other time zone as well.

That's strange. As far as I understood it, just a date without time should be interpreted as midnight UTC 00:00. Which is 8 PM EST, not AM...
