New Disney Show Airing on 2 Networks

dpratt wrote 10 months ago: 1

Disney has a new show called Wizards Beyond Waverly Place that's premiering on Disney Channel on October 29th and next day on Disney+.

Trouble is it's hard to say which network will premiere the majority of episodes. Right now it looks like that will be Disney Channel as their episodes tend to air the day before they are available on Disney+. However sometimes Disney+ does drops, and they end up premiering more episodes. Right now we only know that they plan to drop eight episodes on Oct 30th while Disney Channel is premiering two on Oct 29th and two on Oct 30th. The total episode count is reported to be 21.

We also need to consider what happens with DisneyNow because sometimes they drop more episodes than the TV Network does.

So right now I'm just wondering what airdates I should put in? Someone else already put in Disney+ airdates and I changed the first one to Oct 29th because that's sooner. But then I realized I don't want to make any more changes without asking so that I don't step on any toes.

Here are the first four episodes as they air on Disney Channel.

Tuesday, October 29
8:00pm Wizards Beyond Waverly Place "Everything is Not What It Seems" -- Series Premiere
8:30pm Wizards Beyond Waverly Place "Mortal Vibes Only"

Wednesday, October 30
8:00pm Wizards Beyond Waverly Place "Saved by the Spell"
8:30pm Wizards Beyond Waverly Place "Something Wizard This Way Comes"

As per normal with Disney shows we wait and see who airs the most at one point. If Disney+ airs the shows internationally as well we'd just keep it on there as in most territories now that's the only place you can get Disney shows.

Was it aired internationally? Is there a way to tell?

As far as I can see it's only available in a couple of markets internationally, and they seem to be getting it a day late, (Canada/NZ/Aus)

The airdates need to be fixed for this show. Remember that Disney+ airs new episodes the day after they premiere on Disney Now and Disney Channel. I'm seeing people adding them the same day that they air.

Or are we going to use airdates from Disney Channel? Honestly the rules are pretty vague what we're supposed to do here but I thought if it's airing on Disney+ we have to use those airdates because it's international, even if the majority of episodes there premiered a day later. Am I right?

Whatever network airs the most of the episodes is the dates we should be following. That was pointed out to you when the thread was opened. If changes need to be made, feel free to make them and ask for anything you cant change to be done here or in edit requests.

You said that the one airing internationally is the one we use. If that's so that would be Disney+. Is there some way to verify if it's airing internationally?

But the one premiering the most episodes is Disney Channel, unless by January Disney+ does an unscheduled dump which they sometimes do.

But from what you're telling me, we go with Disney Channel? Right now it's showing Disney+ airdates for the first 9 episodes and Disney Channel for the remainder which is definitely wrong since it should just be one or the other.
