Entertainment Tonight cleanup

May need some help cleaning up the episodes/seasons of Entertainment Tonight... I had originally posted this in the edit requests thread, but I dunno if it was missed or something else. Here is my previous message regarding that:

Currently, other syndicates shows like this list their seasons (here, on TVMaze) by their actual seasons, for example, Inside Edition, currently in season 38, and Extra, currently in season 32.
Entertainment Tonight, however, still goes by years for its seasons. Extra, I believe also went by years for its seasons, until recently when I had mentioned that they were referring to the the September 8, 2025 episode as the season 32 premiere.
Not sure if/how the earlier seasons/years of Entertainment Tonight can be cleaned up, but according the the Paramount press site, it is currently in season 45, and as per Gracenote/Zap2it, the season 45 premiere episode was the episode on September 8, 2025.
Any help figuring this all out would be greatly appreciated.

If anything, I'd like to at least have the recent season(s) fixed up so that future episodes added don't need to be fixed. Maybe for the older episodes/years, TheTVDB could be used to help figure out where those should go?...

I got zero knowledge about this show. You want to change it back to seasons?

I wouldn't know how the earlier seasons/episodes should be handled, aside from going by what is listed on TheTVDB. And like I also said, it appears this episode would be the season 45 premiere.

No idea about this show so no strong views if it should be season or year based as long as it¨s consistent throughout the series - don't want a mixture of season and yearly seasons.

They air every night, 365 days a year. That reads like a year-based schedule to me.

The press site actually says both "Season 45" and "Year 2025-2026".

The previous years' one also says the same (44 & 2024-2025).

I don't see any benefit in changing it to season numbers if it's just to denote how many years it has been

Agree, plus the seasons numbering doesn't really seem consistent, seen how many gaps there are. The current season per year seems more appropriate to me.

Year based looks right to me.

Also, they are all blank episodes with no other info attached to them and no time slot anyway, so it really doesn't make any difference either way.

There's no time slot because ET is syndicated. channels that air it, air it when they want. So it might air at 5pm in Casper WY and 9pm in New Orleans.

@Magitroopa does that September episode specify anything about it been a new season in the episode itself. We do get press for the show but I wouldn't have anything from several months ago.
