Please remove "Stakes"

JAGUARDOG wrote 10 years ago: 1

"Stakes" is not a new series but in fact is the names of upcoming episodes on the animated series "Adventure Time" instead.

The episodes had already been added here to the site to Adventure time and I just now added "Stakes" to the front of each episode that is part of the next 8 episodes (not sure if there will be more or not yhet?) and added "Stakes" as an AKA so in hopes that maybe no one else would re-add it again as a separate show?

Stakes Part 1: Marceline the Vampire Queen

Stakes Part 2: Everything Stays

Stakes Part 3: Vamps About

Stakes Part 4: Empress Eyes

Stakes Part 5: May I Come In?

Stakes Part 6: Take Her Back

Stakes Part 7: Checkmate

Stakes Part 8: The Dark Cloud

Also, I must assume these 8 episodes were loaded in from tvdb.com because I had to correct the air time on every other one (4 total) from 20:00 to 20:15?

Thank you very much, Ron.

The episodes seem to be removed, but the show still isn't

Thank you very much, Ron.

Yes, I imported them from futon :)

And the show Stakes has been removed too.

From futuon well that explains a lot, still using the worst TV site ever on the Internet. How many mistakes, problems, errors from that place before you guys figure out how bad they are for information?

It seems to be a much used source.

Any suggestions on an alternative? And why do you think it's a bad source?

Yes it is much used by the uniformed mostly but I have explained in detail in many different threads in this Forum all the errors I have found there in the past and continue to find as believe or not they average no less than 5 errors, problems, mistakes every single day on their daily schedule and I swear I am not exaggerating this point one bit. I think Gadfly can also verify some of the horrible mistakes they have made in the past as well? Here is just a short list of some of their problems that happen over and over again:

Two times this year they showed specials that they claim were scheduled to air on PBS nightly for 2 weeks straight. I looked at PBS and all over the Internet nightly and could not find 1 of those specials listed anywhere to air anywhere in the world let alone on PBS in the U.S. as it was like they made them up? Two full weeks of programs and not 1 of them ever aired anywhere and they did this 2 times in 2 different months

They sometimes list shows that have ended or on hiatus that are not only either one but are actively running shows. I have found a few that they claim ended or went on hiatus 2 or more years ago that have never stopped airing and have aired 2 or more seasons since they stopped listing episodes for them.

They constantly mess up episode titles scheduled to air that night by showing the tiles of episodes that have already aired or may air in the future.

They are constantly late on some shows when their time slots change still showing them incorrectly airing at their old time periods for weeks and in 3 cases for many months before they finally got them correct.

They sometimes indicate shows airing for 30 minutes when they really are 60 minute long shows and vica versa.

I could go on and on and on but it’s not worth the time to do so. I tried to help them out back in January of this year by sending them emails telling them of some mistakes with the correct information once a week for 5 or so weeks telling them I was only trying to help them. They never attempted to fix one error and never even had the decency to reply to more than 1 email and that one email they claim they fixed the errors I had pointed out but they never did.

Yes I know no TV sites on the Internet are perfect or even close to being perfect they all have their mistakes now and then even Maze but none of them make 1/10th the errors as futoncritic.com has made and continues to make. It’s a wonder that they still even exist?

I can't attest to all of the mistakes that Ron can as far as FutonCritic. I know that they tend to use fantasy production codes, even when their own sources have the correct/official ones.

FutonCritic is reliable enough when it reposts information from other official sources. Such as posting press releases. It's when they get... interpretive that they're a problem.

Please let me try to clarify one thing about futoncritic.com. I'm not at all saying to avoid them like the plague even though it may sound that way when I mention all of their faults. I'm just saying try hard to either avoid them as much as possible or always use a second source to verify what you find there before believing or using their information for any reason. In other words they can be an advantage guide/guideline as to what shows and episode titles may be scheduled to air on any given night but if you trust them wholly then you could be in for some problems without verifying what they indicate from another source first. I do not advocate any one source because as i said they all have mistakes now and again but for myself when I am in doubt I look for 2 backup sources to verify what they claim before I use any of their information.

For U.S. TV show information I use any and all of the following but everyone has their own preference of choice:

Network website

Show website if it has one

zap2it.com

tvtango.com

imdb.com

wikipedia.com

tvguide.com

tv.com

tvdb.com

locatetv.com

as a last resort - futoncritic.com

There of course are many, many others but this is almost all that I would consider useful sources that I personally use myself.

That seems to me some understandable arguments. I only know the site by name, so that's why I was wondering why it's not that good.

Do you guys have good alternatives for the site?
Just so other people can also take a look at that sites instead of Futon?
