How many episodes per current season/series

tonyintenerife wrote 9 years ago: 1

I would really like to see the number of episodes to be aired in the current series/season this is the only thing I miss from TVRage they did show this information which was always useful so you knew how many episodes to expect and also knew when a series has ended at the moment on TVMaze you never really know sometimes whether to expect another episode or not.

Also a series that is over but not cancelled shows as running when it would be much more useful to see "Returning".

this is already possible in our site.

Go to Episodes, click one of the seasons and edit them if not done yet. It should give you an option to fill in the episode order (with a number of episodes)

Thanks for the advice but this only seems to work for previous seasons, for instance "The Blacklist" in series 3 it shows the first 7 episodes that have already been shown plus the next 2, what I would like to know is how many episodes will there be I can guess at 22 again but it could be 13 or any number really that is the point I am trying to get across, hope you understand?

Not every network announces how many episodes are in the season. And sometimes the numbers change, with or without official notice.

As you say, you can guess at 22, or 13. Anybody else adding the information would probably be guessing as well. It may be informed guessing ("Every season of Haven has 13 episodes, they said they're doubling season 5 so there must be 26 episodes"), but it's still guessing.

If someone has entered the info at the season level, you'll see if it's 13 or 22 or 24 or 6. The thing is, you can't find it easily. You need to go the episode listing, then click on the specific season like this http://www.tvmaze.com/seasons/7914/chicago-pd-seas...

I'd rather it was a show level for the running season but for now it's at the season level, I'm not sure if they'll add it as well at show level.

Also, i somewhat agree with gadfly, though i think we know more often than not how many episodes for US, UK, Australia, even France, but it does happen a lot as well that we are just guessing... In those cases, we wouldn't have the info. Futon critic is a good alternative, though not always exact, especially if an order has been upped or decreased but when they don't kow they don't put anything.

What you describe is available on the season page, under "episode order". For example: http://www.tvmaze.com/seasons/7946/game-of-thrones... :)

Showing this information on more places like on the show's main page is on our list!

Just spotted it is on the list to do it does say the information is available just not shown so hopefully it will happen one of these days. I have voted for it already. Keep up the good work!
