Could we possibly add a 'Cookery' or something similar to the TV show type drop down menu?
The only choice even marginally close to it is reality, which isn't really what a cooking show is :)

You can choose Cooking as genre tho :)
"Cooking" is listed as a genre. It presumably falls under the (very broad definition of) Show Type of Reality.
If there's a competitive element (like Master Chef), it's reality.
If there's an educative element (like some of Jamie Oliver's shows), it could be under documentary.
If it's just someone cooking and nothing else, make it variety :)
In all cases the genre could be added of course!
Reality shows (presumably) aren't necessarily competitive.
Perhaps the show types should be defined, and then we can determine what gets what type? Or perhaps "Reality" should be renamed?
There are several forms of reality.
Docu reality (Gold Rush, Deadliest Catch, etc).
Competitive Reality (Big Brother, Survivor, etc)
Scripted reality (South Beach Tow, Dog the Bounty Hunter, etc)
Cooking shows (Jamie Oliver, Hairy Bikers, etc) do not fall under reality, they fall under Lifestyle.
Competitive Cooking falls under Competition (or whatever you call it) like Eurovision or those idiotic dancing competition.
