PIlot Movies

How should Pilot movies be handled? Some examples:

Dresden Files had a pilot movie made, but it didn't air until after the series ended (The episode Storm Front is a pared down version of the film, but the film was shown, too.)

Dirk Genty had a pilot movie made pre-series, it's in the same universe but was not made as part of the rest of the series.

Alias Smith and Jones had a pilot movie made pre-series and there were cast changes and such made before the series went to production, this pilot movie was televised.

Sherlock had a shortened episode as a pilot before the production decided on a longer form. The episode did not air in the US but I think it did air in the UK.

Should these all be listed as Specials, or is there a different way to handle them depending on the circumstances?

Original pilots (other versions than the regular premiere episode that aired) are allowed to be added.

As they aren't part of the normal episode flow, they should always be marked as special. Only if it aired on the same network as the regular episode an airdate should be added; otherwise the airdate should be left empty to indicate it's unaired.

Cheers!

I've started the Special episode for The Dresden Files (I've been dinged for edits and waiting for clearance to finish it). Can you take a look at it to make sure I've created it correctly?
