John Stead

John Stead is a Canadian stunt coordinator, actor, director, and producer. He has also worked extensively in the theatre as a director and fight director. He is Head of Stage Combat for the Stratford Festival of Canada, a master instructor with the Academy of Dramatic Combat, Stage Combat Coordinator for The National Theatre School and a member of the Society of Canadian Fight Directors. He has over 500 professional theatre credits as a fight director, including 23 seasons as the fight director for the Stratford Festival and 17 seasons with the Shaw Festival. He has stunt coordinated the action sequences for more than 600 film and television episodes in Canada and abroad, and stunt performed on over 300 TV episodes and films. He has worked across Canada and the U.S.
