The thing is : when netflix plans for a mini-series, this is the wording they used to advertise it (like for 'Unbelievable'). But in this case, they have put the label 'season 1' on it

As soon as someone announce the renewal we'll change the status :)

The 3x90’ mini-series is written and created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss and inspired by Bram Stoker’s classic novel.

Wouldn't be the first time a British show ends up getting more seasons. But I'd say for now it's finished, and if they decide to do more, we'd just change it to running.

Status should be changed to "running" or "on pause", because there wasn't any word about its cancellation from the creators. Mark Gatiss discussed the possibility of the second series. Status should be updated, when there will be an official source confirming that the series is indeed ended. Don't you know the rules?

Just so you know, the term "mini-series" or "limited series" usually implies a complete story with predefined number of episodes. It don't need to be "cancelled", because by default it is considered as "ended" after the initial run of the last episode. And it should stay "ended" until there's an official announcement about continuation. But even in this case, it is not necessary that the story will continue as a new season, and not as a new show (for example The Young Pope / The New Pope).

In the vast majority of cases you won't see "an official source confirming that the series is indeed ended". The networks prefer to silently pull the plug, and the news about cancellation usually came from the third-party sources.
