Prev/next episode bug

tnt wrote 3 years ago: 2

When there is more than one ep. per day, the prev/next navigation acting funky.

E.g. https://www.tvmaze.com/episodes/1552594/friheden-1x03-somethings-rotten
"Next ep." leads to ep. 5, skipping ep. 4.

https://www.tvmaze.com/episodes/1552596/friheden-1x05-the-childs-first-sick-day
No "Next ep." button at all, yet there are 5 more episodes. "Previous ep." button leads to ep. 10.

The situation above is very inconsistent and confusing.
For example, the same episode before edit https://i.imgur.com/9yJF026.jpg, and after https://i.imgur.com/bQulT4d.jpg
Note, that this is the last episode, and yet it shows "Next ep." button.

After I updated summaries for all episodes, the navigation returned to normal. But there's definitely something going on, because I've noticed it on two different shows.

Do you have any examples that are still broken right now?

That one specifically happens because episode 8 doesn't have a time set, but episode 7 does and it's on the same day.

I also saw that a few days ago, though didn't encounter any where they all have no time and it's out of order.

I figured this much, but in my first example none of the episodes have a time set (they don't have a time property at all), and navigation was random until I edited all of them. In any case, it should respect the episode numbers before all other factors.

Could it be the collateral from the new treatment of specials?

Yeah, I hadn't seen any examples where there was no time on any episodes.

Do you have any more un-edited ones where that is the case?

I also expect it to be due to the special changes.

Not right now, but I'll post when I find something.

Right! Should be fixed in the future.
