Ratings Roundup Week of March 26, 2017

With little fanfare, FOX wrapped up twelve seasons of Bones last week and the long-running procedural had its highest ratings for the season. Sleepy Hollow ended its season as well, though it was more like a last whimper as the series is most likely canceled. Prospects are not good for Rosewood, either, as it's first new episode in weeks barely rated higher than the reruns of the past month.

TheCW continues to chug along. Supernatural ticked up a bit over the previous few weeks proving a couple of demon hunting brothers can still hold their own against a schedule full of superheroes. iZombie returns next week and joins The Originals as the only shows on current TheCW schedule still waiting renewal news.

NBC closed out Grimm last week after six seasons with its highest ratings for the season. The Dick Wolf one-two punch of Chicago Fire and Chicago PD were the highest rated scripted shows for the Peacock Network as The Voice maintained its top spot overall, though it has fallen off from its high premiere numbers. Network execs may be regretting that quick renewal of Shade of Blue however; the series had dropped a tenth each week since its premier.

CBS schedules returned almost to normal last week after several weeks of college basketball. Venerable NCIS continues to prove why it deserves to stick around. Even with some big cast changes this season, the series is still the highest rated drama on the network. The Amazing Race premiered last week to only mediocre numbers. It rated a bit higher than other programs CBS had in that slot, but down for the reality show in general.

ABC premiered Imaginary Mary last week to good numbers, now it needs to hold on to that audience in the coming weeks. Time After Time however became the first of the three new time travel series' airing on various networks this season to be canceled as it was unceremoniously yanked from the schedule after only five weeks with no plans to air the remaining episodes. American Crime can't be too far behind as it sank to embarrassingly low numbers. While Dancing with the Stars dropped from its premier, Modern Family and Grey's Anatomy both rose last week and both had one of their best ratings weeks in the past month.

That wraps another ratings week. As we get further into April season/series finales will become more prominent on the network schedules. All renew/cancel decisions will be made public by May 10th or so at the latest.
