ABC had two premieres last week. Freshman comedy, Not Dead Yet, opened to okay numbers, though the second episode lost seven hundred thousand viewers. The show will have to hold where it is if fans want to see a second season. A Million Little Things opened its fifth and final season about where it ended last season. Back-to-back episodes of The Parent Test were even. The Good Doctor was down three hundred thousand viewers.

CBS saw a nice return on the Grammy Awards. Bucking the recent trend, the awards ceremony was up compared to last year. Fans of So Help Me Todd celebrated the show's renewal by bumping the viewer number up by one hundred thousand eyeballs. Fire Country was up two hundred thousand viewers. Lingo shed half a million viewers, possibly thanks to the fact Super Bowl Greatest Commercials pulled a smaller audience that The Price Is Right At Night. CSI: Vegas picked up one hundred thousand viewers.

NBC ran mostly repeats last week. The shine might be off Night Court. The comedy held its rating, but lost six hundred thousand more viewers. That was still head and shoulders above any other comedy currently on the network. American Auto lost three hundred thousand viewers. Lopez vs Lopez and Young Rock were up one hundred thousand viewers each, but chances are one or both will be cancelled. Quantum Leap lost four hundred thousand viewers.

FOX preempted its Sunday animation block for the fourth week in a row, this time in favor of NASCAR. Hell's Kitchen wrapped its season, up three hundred thousand viewers. Alert: Missing Persons Unit lost half a million viewers it couldn't afford. Its chances for renewal are slim at best. The only thing working in its favor is the fact that it does perform better than its lead-in. Fantasy Island returned after a week off, down three hundred thousand viewers.

The CW had one new premiere last week. The Flash opened its final season even with where it ended last season. the network has been running a repeat and then a new episode of The Winchesters. Unfortunately, for fans of the show, the new episode isn't performing better than the repeat, and in terms of ratings numbers, is actually doing worse. That sort of trend isn't going to help its renewal chances. Criss Angel's Magic with the Stars wrapped its first, and likely last, season even with the previous week. Kung Fu returned with its first new episode since November. Its rating was down from 0.06, but its viewer numbers were steady.

Interesting. I haven't watched it (I don't watch most comedies these days) so I wonder if there is a marketing mismatch happening with the show. People either hear Dwanye Johnson and expect a goofy Disney-esque show and bow out. Ot they go in hoping for a Disney-esque and are surprised that that isn't what it is.

also people expect every episode to feature the rock as a young man.  unless i missed something the episode i saw didn't have him in it at all other than himself in modern times.

i finally watched an episode of young rock and i'm surprised how serious and good it is.  usually shows like these are really over the top and unrealistic despite them being inspired by real events.

hopefully the loss of quantum leap viewers was because of how controversial the episode was.

QL has already been renewed, so the drop shouldn't hurt it in the long run.
