Ratings Roundup for the Week of April 23, 2023

NBC wrapped two shows last week. Magnum PI finished its first of two ten-episode seasons on its new network. The series ended the season with a slightly higher rating but lost two hundred thousand viewers. It will get another short season next Spring and then fans will have to see if it gets another renewal. Grand Crew wrapped its second season with back-to-back episodes. The first episode managed to pick up one hundred thousand viewers compared to the previous week. The finale, however barely scraped a million viewers. Expect the show to be quietly shuffled off when nothing is mentioned at upfronts next month. Lopez vs Lopez moved from Friday to Tuesday following Night Court. The move didn't seem to help much, however. The show lost both rating points and two hundred thousand viewers.

ABC ran very little scripted programming last week thanks to the NFL Draft and NHL Playoffs. The Rookie was down, losing one hundred thousand viewers. The Rookie: Feds picked up three hundred thousand viewers. Still no news on a renewal for the spinoff series. It may be that the network just wants to hold a few surprises for upfronts in a couple of weeks. The Good Doctor picked up two hundred thousand viewers. Not Dead Yet sank last week, losing almost a million viewers. Will Trent lost some ratings hundredths but had even viewer numbers.

CBS had a quiet week last week. Still no renewal news for SWAT, East New York, or True Lies. True Lies managed to pick up one hundred thousand viewers last week, but repeats of several other shows managed better numbers, not a good sign. Even for its last season. NCIS: Los Angeles has held its audience. Last week was even with the previous week while the rest of the NCIS franchise was in repeats.

The CW premiered the documentary series, 100 Days to Indy last week to abysmal numbers. The premiere episode barely scraped two hundred thousand viewers. Interestingly, a repeat of Penn & Teller: Fool Us had the highest viewer numbers for the network last week, though its rating put it at the lower end of the chart. Most of the network's scripted shows ran new episodes last week. All American maintained the top spot, picking up two hundred thousand viewers. Superman & Lois returned after a short break, down one hundred thousand viewers. The Flash was even. Walker returned after a month off also down one hundred viewers.
