This episode was OK, and would have made a good season finale, but seemed a bit underwhelming as the sendoff for a show that had run for 5 seasons. It's not like they didn't know the end was coming. Instead, we got a proposal by one of the supporting characters, hints that Maggins was getting more serious, and a largely unresolved bit of blackmail - a scene near the end suggested they might not have taken Katsumoto up on his offer to let them trade recovered evidence for an incriminating audio recording. In any case, a bad guy with a grudge against them was still out there. Were they hoping for another reprieve?
I'm a bit disappointed they didn't swing for the fences - like having a wedding on the beach of the estate, with Tom Selleck showing up, in a last minute cameo as Robin Masters, to give away the bride. That said, I take back a comment I made after watching the series pilot - that the show was a pale imitation of the original. Turns out it was every bit as good, and I'll miss this one too.
