NBC wrapped On Brand with Jimmy Fallon last week. The reality show ended even with the previous week's numbers, but the chances of seeing more of this show are nil. It will be quietly cancelled. NBA Basketball lost three million viewers from its first televised game. Time will tell if that is the result of the teams playing, the World Series over on FOX dominating the ratings in general, or a general lack of viewer interest. Brilliant Minds lost half a million viewers last week. That does not help its case for renewal, and fans should start worrying about its future. Chicago Med was up two hundred thousand viewers. Chicago Fire and Chicago PD were each down two hundred thousand viewers.

CBS saw losses for most of its shows last week. Tracker lost one hundred thousand viewers off its premiere but held onto the top of the scripted dramas list. The Road was one of the few shows last week to see gains, picking up one hundred thousand viewers. If it can hold where it is, it could see a second season. NCIS was down four hundred thousand viewers, but remained the second-highest scripted drama. Its ducklings of NCIS Origins and NCIS Sydney also saw losses. Origins right now is likely safe. The network likes the franchise, and several other shows are trending even lower. Ratings are less important for NCIS Sydney as it's imported from Paramount+. DMV lost another half million viewers last week, and its prospects started to dim. Fire Country and Boston Blue both lost three hundred thousand viewers last week. Sheriff Country was even.

ABC also had a down week last week. 9-1-1 lost three hundred thousand viewers. Spinoff, 9-1-1: Nashville was even. The latest in the 9-1-1 franchise may have finally settled, though it's at the low end of the chart. Right now, its chances for renewal are iffy. Shifting Gears lost half a million viewers. That pulled down Abbott Elementary, which lost four hundred thousand viewers. Grey's Anatomy was even, but it remains the lowest-rated drama on the network. Low ratings and its age could spell trouble for its future.

FOX execs heard the magic words last week of schedule games five, six, and seven of the World Series. Game seven of the Dodgers/Blue Jays matchup had the highest rating of any World Series game since 2019. Baseball dominated the network schedule last week, with ratings numbers to drool over. The Sunday animation block, without the assist from an NFL overrun, returned to reality from its stratospheric ratings the previous week.
