Lawrence "Larry" Durrell

Funny but often cruel. Larry thinks he knows best so tries to run everyone's life, which Louisa points out is like putting a lunatic in charge of the asylum. And if anyone's going to screw up the Durrells, she would prefer it was her. On his way to becoming a brilliant novelist, Larry believes he is surrounded by idiots. He talks about sex a lot but is devoted to his girlfriend Nancy with whom he has an on-off relationship.
