An East German doctor convinces refugees that he can get them over the Berlin Wall and then sells them out to the local colonel.... and he kidnaps the daughter of a negotiator to increase hostilities and maintain his profit.

In East Germany, Dr. Wolfgang Gerstner leads the Kleins to a warehouse and from there to an underground passage. He explains that it leads beneath the Berlin Wall and into No Man's Land. Gerstner gives them directions to follow once they emerge from the other side to clear the minefield. After thanking Gerstner, the Kleins cross over only to find Colonel Josef Batz and his soldiers waiting for them.
