You missed the point of what was happening there. The guy was a womaniser and he was attending each opera with a different girl. That was a montage of different operas. Nathan Lane’s character was getting more angry with each one.
I really enjoy this series, and Nathan Lane made this episode a lot of fun. Why, though, did the writers feel they had to put segments of operas by Mozart and Verdi into a performance of Puccini's Tosca? Was it supposed to be some kind of joke?
