I don't think he would have taken the boat. Part of his character doesn't allow him to steal or take things away from others. Remeber, eveytime he takes gas away from a vehicle, he made it a point to leave money, hoping when things go back the way they are, the owner of vehicles will get their money for the gas that was taken from their cars. Also he strongly feels that the hive doesn't have the right to give anything to Manousos as he pointed out that everyhting they'e offering him is stolen. He even burned his car just to make sure they won't be able to use it as it is not theirs.
